Welcome to the port of Barhöft

Our port offers many opportunities for fishing activities. Our nearby Bodden waters are known for their abundance of fish. In the months of March, April and May the herring migrates in large schools to the lagoon waters to spawn. Once the water has reached a temperature of 6-7 degrees, the herring begins to bite. In the Baltic Sea west of Hiddensee you can hunt down cod in autumn, winter and spring. In summer the cod retreats to the deeper layers of the water because it loves the cold.
